Two-Day Intensive Art Courses
Each course meets for two successive days at The Greensprings Clearing. Snacks and lunch will be provided.
Beginning drawing students learn to draw what you see, practicing one straightforward technique at a time!
After a review of basic drawing techniques, students receive instruction in creating successful compositions and experiment with creating still life and landscape drawings.
Art & Ecology Sunday Afternoons
Join artist Deb Van Poolen and Environmental Education SOU Masters student Debra Agnew at The Greensprings Clearing for these courses which integrate art and ecology lessons.
LEARNING & DRAWING PLANTS
Participants will be introduced to a multitude of wildflowers, grasses and shrubs and receive guidance in how to draw one or two favorite plants.
LEARNING & DRAWING TREES
As students observe various conifer and hardwood tree species in their natural habitats, they will receive information about the distinguishing characteristics of the trees and learn to draw overall tree shapes, as well as their needles, pinecones, leaves and branches.
LEARNING & DRAWING/PAINTING THE LANDSCAPE
Students view various vistas on the Greensprings Clearing property, hear fascinating tidbits about the Cascade-Siskiyou region’s fabulous geology, receive an introduction to landscape composition and draw or paint a landscape scene.
