Greensprings Clearing Artist-in-Residency Program

Artists are invited to reside two to eight weeks at Greensprings Clearing’s serene mountain retreat just 17 miles east of Ashland Oregon.

Artists have full access to GC’s spacious studio space with various amenities, including double utility sink, 4’ x 8’ table, and vaulted ceiling with four skylights. Artists also enjoy the 34 acres of healthy old growth forest and open meadows surrounding the home.

Artists have their own fully furnished bedroom and access to the kitchen and living room from 8am to 10pm each day.

The Greensprings Inn and Cabins with a full restaurant is located on the property adjacent to Greensprings Clearing.

The Pacific Crest Trail, providing spectacular views of the Rogue Valley, Mt McLoughlin, and Mt Shasta, crosses Highway 66 less than one mile from the home.

OPENING SPECIAL: $200 per week

Regular fee: $250 per week

Importance of an Artist-in-Residency Program

When Deb Van Poolen began painting in 1995, veteran artist Harriet Rex Smith gave Deb a table to use for five months in her large mountain studio of Southern Oregon. Harriet’s mentoring of Deb jump started her early art career of creating and marketing landscape, floral and portrait paintings.
